It was love at first sight. Saffron was just 8 weeks old when we met her. She was wobbling back and forth, trying to figure out how to walk on her little paws. I picked her up in my arms to hold her, and that’s when she decided to shower me with wet kisses. From that moment, we knew we were meant to be a family. Rick & I had been wanting to get a dog for a while, so when we found Saffron, it was a huge deal for us. We felt like new parents! But we soon discovered that like parenthood, owning a dog also means A LOT of work. In truth, it was something that we weren’t completely ready for. From puppy-proofing the entire house to making sure that at least one of us is home in time to watch over her, every aspect of our life changed in some way. We had to reorganize our all our priorities, but life became better because of her. Saffron helped us see a kind of love that we’ve never experienced before. Every day, she’s the last thing we see when we leave the house, and the first thing we see when we arrive home. And after a rough day, nothing beats coming home and being greeted with a shower of her wet kisses.
